The Mormon Tabernacle Christmas Concert

I just realized that I never posted this. I wrote it back on 9/27 when it was announced. Sorry for the late "hot news."

It's official. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir announced its annual Christmas concert today. There special guests will be the King Singers.

This concert has special meaning for me, besides the fact that it is one of the best Christmas traditions available out there (excluding the personal family ones). Matt invited me to my first Christmas concert in December 1996. It was our first date. We have been every year except the year I was giving birth to Dawn. Many years the concert is made into a cd. How many of you have your first date published on a cd to enjoy year after year, huh? I ask you that.

We have even been to one with the King Singers. It was great, and I can't wait for this year. Dawn is going to be 8 years old this year, old enough to attend for the first time. All of Matt's family goes and many of mine makes the trip down to Salt Lake too. It is so worth it.

Now for the big surprise bummer. They have changed the way tickets will be given out. Starting on October 22 and continuing through November 11 you can register for 8 tickets. Tickets will then be randomly distributed. Equal chances? Where did they come up with that dumb idea? What ever happened to dedication and zealousness in getting tickets? Has all the esprit de corp been thrown out the window to waft over to the den of sin located high on the mountainside covered in red? Really. If you love, you work, then you win. Maybe we could picket.

Sorry you stuck to the end only to find my ranting. I'll be going now. See you on October 22.

I love, love, LOVE the King Singers so I really hope we manage to score some tickets. I didn't like the way they over-ticketed for the event last year but I don't think this solution is much better.

So, so, SO sad that we won't even be within 1000 miles of that concert! :( I will register for tickets and you can have mine. Did I tell you our RS president is good friends with Janice? Her name is Peggy Henderson! Anyway....good luck with the tickets!
